Comfort & Joy

Old Country Roses mug, a past gift from Terry!

Merry Christmas! I can't believe how time flies. It's been three weeks since my last post!

I'm just getting over a nasty cold/sinus infection that's kept me down for the count for several weeks. 'Tis the season to get sick!

Writing out my Christmas cards.

I finally sat down last weekend and wrote out my Christmas cards.

This year's Christmas cards.

I put on some Christmas music, and fixed a delicious mug of cappuccino and some chocolate almond biscotti to get myself in the Christmas spirit.

Cappuccino.

Terry bought me this Old Country Roses mug years ago for Christmas. He didn't know it was one of my favorite patterns, but he instinctively knew it would make me happy.

My taste buds had started to come back! Yay!

Terry decorating the tree.

I usually set up the Christmas tree and decorate it, but this year, Terry did it for me! He did a wonderful job. It looks beautiful!

Ordering gifts online is a joy, especially when you're too sick to go to the mall.

Santa Cat.

2011 was not a good year for us. This past June, our sweet little cat Penny died suddenly. It was a shock, and saddened us for many months. So many of my blogging friends also were writing about losing pets, and I stayed away from blogging so as not to read about any more sadness.

A Gift For You!

But time does heal, and life goes on.

Great message!

I wish you all a beautiful holiday season.
Cherish your loved ones. Celebrate life and make merry!

And, in my next post, I'll tell a much happier tale!

Hi Richard-

Hope you had a Merry Christmas! Thank you, I'm feeling almost 100% once again. And yes, now I know my husband can do the tree decorating, lol! Wishing you all good wishes at the Elgin Cottrell House in 2012!

Pam, Hope you feel better, isn't it a drag to be sick for new years? Last year I went to a wedding on Long Island. Flew back to Rockland in a blizzard. I was sooo sick. Rash fever, cough. throat, sick to my stomach. This year went shopping 2 days after Xmas in Augusta with friends. We hit 6 stores. Coming home I got hot and a headache. Next day i bought a silk tree onsale and went to a party. There were about 50 Artist's there, I came home soo sick and got sicker 104 fever. I am alone and no dog to hug. so I washed my neck and face with alchol, not the dringing kind. Haha. Then Ice packs. In a few hours I was back to 99 degrees.
You have to be brave to get old. Love to you stay well and keep intouch in 2012...yvonnne

Hi Yvonne-

I'm so sad that you aren't feeling well over the holidays! I hope you're feeling better now. I finally got over what I had, but I think something else is trying to take hold. It's not fun being sick, and you're right, getting older is no fun, either!

Hello Pam,
I'm so sorry about little Penny. I know first hand how devastated one feels in loosing a beloved animal companion. We heal, but the scar remains. Terry did a fine job on the Christmas tree, you have such lovely little ornaments. Let's sweep away that 'annus horribilis'
and welcome 2012 with the renewed faith of a much better year.
Cheers!

Hi Anyes-

Thank you so much for your understanding about our Penny. I know you love your animals, too, and understand what it's like to lose them. Your kind words mean so much to me. 2012 looks to be a much happier year, that's for sure!
