I really love the textures and colors of late Autumn, when the most of the leaves have fallen from the trees, the plants have faded to their subdued hues, and seed pods blow in the wind. Here are some photos I took a couple days ago on my lunch break in downtown Chicago, and today in our garden. Enjoy!
Those plumes on the grasses are so pretty, light and flowy. Great photos.

ReplyDeleteYou know, I did notice that the color palette was very similar once I posted that! But you're right, the variety and busyness is also very similar. I guess in the back of my mind, I knew that was my favorite color scheme. I also tend to buy clothes in those colors. Hmm, what does that say about me? :-)

I'm like you, there is nothing like the texturs of autumn. I especially like your macro shots and that you have taken these just outside the city. Illinois is one of my favorite states for antiquing as the people their "live" with their antiques rther rather than just collect. When I was living in Thomason, Ill, we had a huge, Queen Anne and I filled it with beautiful finds. Oh how I miss it. One of the reasons why I enjoy your blog so much, I often feel like I'm back home. Sea Witch
