Happy Birthday, President Lincoln!

Abraham Lincoln would be 201 years old this year. His work, writings and wit are well known. To honor him, here are a few of his quotes:

Pam, I have LONG admired President Lincoln.
Saw a series of Documentaries about him and his wife and the saddest of losses ..their children.
And how he suffered from deep depression so much of his life too..OH but what he accomplished in his lifetime will long be remembered.
God truly Blessed America with this man... to be part of such an important era of our Country's History.

I very much love reading quotes, they make me stop and think, make me see things through someone else's eyes! Lincoln, no wonder why we celebrate his birthday! Wow 201 years! Isn't it awful to think that 200 years from now our generation will be remembered for such horrendous people as Madonna and all her scandels, and all of those who do not live life with morals, but without! What a sad thought!

Maybe our future generations will look back on the more noteworthy people of our times. There are true heroes today, and they're usually not the rock stars or celebrities. There were ignorant people in every era, I guess, and hopefully the memories of the good people will outlast the bad!

Abraham Lincoln -- I still wish we celebrated Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays separately -- I am afraid school children don't learn enough about these remarkable men, without whom we would not have the country we have today.

Lincoln was truly one of the greatest men to walk this Earth. Thanks for the quotes! I love them. And they are every bit as current and relevant as they were 150 years ago.

Hi Cass-

I liked when Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays were celebrated on the actual days as well. Now we celebrate all holidays on a Monday, which just isn't right. It's not about having a long weekend, it's about celebrating the lives of some great people.
